Kylie and Brad may not be fans of Maddy and Charlotte, but the two couples tonight have one thing in common – a sense of being snubbed by the judges.

Maddy and Charlotte's disastrous week ends on a fitting note, with Marty Fox and Shaynna Blaze thumbing their way into the guest bedroom with the bunk bed on top of each other.

RELATED:

The girls thought adding the ability to sleep four in one room would add value to their guest wings, but Shaynna points out that no adults looking for a weekend getaway would want to sleep on top of them with their kids.

Meanwhile, Marty thinks the entire room lacks a luxurious feel.

Maddy and Charlotte's custom double bed didn't win over Shaynna or Marty.

…and they didn't make their toilet with a view either.

Darren Palmer is the opposition.

“The craftsmanship of that bed! It's all wood, purpose built, not something you buy off the shelf. There is a kitchen with everything you need apart from a cook, you have your own bathroom, lounge and separate entrance. What part of the market does this not affect? It's a 10 for me if it weren't for the lack of paint and finish.

The judges all agree that the girls' laundry room is too cramped for a house of 10, which includes a toilet that looks out through an open glass door onto the outdoor seating area, a move Shaynna calls “bad” that seals their fate.

A bedroom that echoes Kylie and Brad's and is barely kept.

For the second week in a row, Kylie and Brad have skipped the judging. The first thing the judges noticed about the guest bedroom was how the cavernous room echoed. They also hate having a cramped wardrobe and not enough drawers, but their main beef seems to be that Kylie and Brad haven't changed their style based on previous reviews.

MORE:

“Is anyone listening?” Marty asks. “Did something sink? Because the other contestants have auditions and their rooms are getting better, but there's a saw going on in the fourth house.”

Shaynna defends them, noting what a great job they've done on the living and dining space they've won, but also says she has “no idea what the whole mezzanine thing is.”

Downstairs, Darren finds the couple's laundry room “quiet and discreet,” but Shaynna doesn't like the fact that the washer and dryer are behind the door and being insulted by an ottoman for reasons known only to her.

Better news for Courtney and Grant. They listened to the judges and added a wall and built-in wardrobe to the mezzanine living area, which makes room for a king bed and artwork in the guest bedroom.

The judges love the olive tones, the choice of art, and the divider does a complete 180 in the ensuite bathroom.

After saying, “I absolutely hate it,” Marty now says, “That's the wing I want to sleep in in this house.”

Shaynna praises Courtney's attention to detail and says Courtney and Grant's Moditerranean style is “unique and their own look,” after dismissing last year's “Japan” style as old hat.

Their laundry is somewhat less successful, with the placement of the unit under the stairs guaranteeing that users will hit their heads, and the lack of a toilet means that anyone using the pool has to go inside the house to the nearest toilet.

It's guaranteed to cause a stir in Courtney and Grant's laundry room, somewhere under the stairs.

Ricky and Haydn win plaudits for the guest bedroom with its bunk bed and loft, desk and plenty of wardrobe space, but the judges point out that the house currently has too many children's beds and no beds for adults.

Their laundry room, complete with stacked appliances, bench seating and a separate powder room with a pink base basin, is a big hit and they look like they'll have a chance to win.

Mimi and Christian are certainly not going to challenge them. The judges can't overlook the fact that they didn't follow their advice to convert last week's lounge/pool cabana to a bedroom and this week's room to a lounge.

Instead, they doubled up with a wooden end wall and a wall of wardrobes, creating a non-ensuite bedroom that would be almost impossible to convert back into a lounge, while a room originally planned as a bedroom with ensuite is now a lounge. room near the pool.

Ricky and Haydn do good laundry.

“You can't fault the look and feel of this room, but it's all a noisy bedroom and you have a lounge that's a living room. Are you really going to shower while people are watching TV?' Shaynna asks.

Their choice also means no bedrooms with ensuites on the lower level.

Mimi admits to being puzzled as to why this might be a problem.

“I understand that having a bathroom in your bedroom is a luxury, but people do it. Take a walk!”

Christian and Mimi stuck to their guns and put a bedroom in the living space, a configuration that can't be changed back.

Their clothes are announced by the judges as “clothes of the day”. Its unique green appliances, bench space, hanging shelves and easy access to the pool attract all the attention.

It looks like it's neck and neck between Courtney and Grant and Ricky and Haydn, but Courtney and Grant use their bonus points wisely and get half a point.

Judges' final scores

Courtney and Grant 29.5

Ricky and Haydn 29

Kylie and Brad 22.5

Christian and Mimi 20.5

Maddy and Charlotte 20
