Artistic Homes combine Modern Comfort and Creative Design
Turner's latest residential offering, art.haus, redefines urban apartment living by combining modern comforts with an artisanal design philosophy.
Currently under construction on the outskirts of the city, it offers 27 unique floor plans in one, two and three bedroom designs ranging from 55m² to 191m² in the heart of Turner.
The focus of the design is to create spacious interiors, abundant natural light, functional layouts and a sense of community.
These creative homes capture key elements of Canberra's cultural and aesthetic heart.
Lead architect Nathan Judd, interior design Studio + You and curators and landscape architects of SPACELAB were the creators of art.haus and are proud to bring these unique apartments to the market.
David Shearer, Director of Projects at SPACELAB STUDIO, said, “art.haus is the result of everything I've learned over three decades within Canberra's evolving housing lifestyle choice.”
“I love how pure, simple and focused it is. art.haus is about living every day well. Whether it's a vibrant and active interface with people and the movement of urban life, or a serene elevated landscape, each design celebrates its place.”
Shoppers looking for creativity and a touch of glamor will be charmed by these designer spaces.
Location and accessibility
buzzing Braddon entertainment precinct and adjacent to the city is one of Canberra's most sought after locations. Elouera Street light rail station is just 20 meters from the front door of art.haus.
The surrounding neighborhood boasts lively cafes and restaurants, and the Australian National University is just a two-minute drive away, making it convenient for students, working professionals or downsizers.
The community surrounding the homes is part of the main appeal for buyers.
“Turner is one of Canberra's most central suburbs, sandwiched between ANU and Braddon precinct, so you can get out and turn left to kill a few brain cells or grow them,” Mr Shearer joked.
Design and architecture
The journey to create Art.haus began with a detailed creative vision and a commitment to make each apartment feel authentic and comfortable.
“The Art.haus creative journey began with a detailed brief, lots of crazy sketches and a wish list to create a comfortable, authentic, well-lived feel for each apartment – no matter how many bedrooms fit the particular owner,” explained Mr. Shearer.
The spaces feel chic and luxurious, perfect for those who hate cookie-cutter apartments.
Unique elements of the design include a large bathroom with double sinks, as well as a separate shower and bath in each apartment, which Mr. Shearer explains is a unique luxury feature not found in many modern apartments.
“The one-bedroom apartments have the same level of luxury as the largest three-bedroom apartments. This is not normal,'' Mr Shearer said.
Communal and entry spaces are also carefully designed to encourage not only a sense of community, but also a sense of comfort when the resident walks through the door after a long day.
“I found that there is very little consideration given to how you feel when you arrive at your apartment, most entrance lobbies are very commercial and the corridors look like a hospital.
So we ditched the tin of white paint and light corporate gray decor and went with mood, colour, warmth and art in the common areas,” said Mr Shearer.
Happy residents will enjoy highly thought out and carefully designed spaces.
The Gallery in the lobby showcases creative works and art installations by local artists, which not only brings the community to the center of the building, but also enriches the lifestyle of the residents.
Comfort and facilities
Although gyms and pools are not included in the development at Art.haus, residents are steps away from the many recreational and wellness options Canberra has to offer.
“Any lifestyle-enhancing amenity, such as yoga, the gym or red wine at a fantastic restaurant, is just a short drive away, so you'll walk more, get stronger, maybe enjoy a little fun. wine too,” said Mr Shearer.
In addition to accessibility to local amenities, Turner itself promotes a walkable lifestyle, allowing residents to stay healthy while connecting with the neighborhood without the added layer of expense.
