Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale have been named the best Aussie areas for those looking to live to 100.

Just Nootropics research has revealed that residents who call the borough of Queenscliffe home, made up of two suburbs on the Bellarine Peninsula, have the strongest chance of being centenarians after analyzing lifestyle and age data from the latest census.

Victoria dominated the top 10 list, which rated every region nationally, with the Buloke, Hindmarsh and West Wimmera regions in sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively.

The firm's neuroscientist Dr Brian Ramos said Australia's blue zones – or where people live exceptionally long lives on average – had a number of qualities; peaceful surroundings, a slower pace of life and ample space for outdoor activities.

“For those living in large metropolitan areas, it's important to schedule regular work hours, create community, and ensure the brain spends time in green spaces designed to help relieve the daily stresses that life can bring,” said Dr. Ramos.

RT Edgar Bellarine Ocean Grove director Brock Grainger said he once sold a Queenscliff home owned by a 105-year-old woman.

“He said he lived in the ocean and there was a nice sea breeze that helped him live as long as he did,” she said.

“He actually … moved to a lifestyle village, not a nursing (facility).”

PropTrack data shows that Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale have median house prices of $1.26 million and $1.1235 million respectively.

After moving from country Victoria about 12 years ago, Mr Grainger said it was a very happy and friendly community compared to other areas, which he attributed to the seaside suburb's “relaxed vibe” and strong sense of community.
